Cheltenham League Notice Board
1 Player Debts Clubs are reminded that the League's CDP1 form should be used to record
the details of all players who owe a club money at the end of the season.
This form should then be submitted, during the period between the end
of the season and the date that is 7 days prior to the advertised date
for the League AGM, to the League Registration Secretary. This year, this
means that forms can be submitted to Phil Tustain between May 1st and
June 6th. The League Registration Secretary will then compile a list of
the details of all players so reported from every club in the Cheltenham
League and this list will be distributed to all clubs at the Annual General
Meeting on form CDP2. 2. Cup Final Tickets The League has not yet received its allocation of Cup Final tickets for this season but it has compiled a list of clubs who will be offered the tickets once they arrive. Unfortunately, it is very unlikely that we will receive enough tickets to be able to meet everyone's needs. It is anticipated that details of the allocation will be received soon, however, and that, once they are received, the administration of the distribution of the tickets will have to be completed quickly in advance of the date of the final, which this year is Saturday, May 17th. 3 County Cup Finals. Four teams from the Cheltenham League were competing in County Cup Finals in April and results have been mixed. Whaddon United Reserves lost the Intermediate Cup Final at the beginning of the month to Kingswood Reserves, but FC Barometrics claimed the Junior County Cup with a 3-0 victory over Leonard Stanley. More recently, Tewkesbury Rovers have won the Minor County Cup following a 3-1 victory over Newnham United in the Final played at Harrow Hill FC but, unfortunately, Tewkesbury Town Reserves lost the Primary Final 7-2 to Didmarton, which was played at Cirencester Town's Corinium Stadium. Congratulations, however, are due to all the League's four County Cup Finalists 4 Senior Charity Cup Final This season's Senior Charity Cup Final was played at Whaddon Road on
Wednesday, 16th April and resulted in a 3-0 win for FC Barometrics over
Whaddon United in front of an attendance that was in excess of 400. Our
gratitude is very much due both to Cheltenham Town, for once again allowing
the League the use of their excellent facilities and also the sponsors
of the Charity Cup Competitions, the Chelsea Building Society. Thanks
are also due to Craig Armstrong, the Cheltenham Town star, for making
the presentations at the end of the match, as, indded, they are to all
those Cheltenham Town employees who gave their services for nothing to
help make the evening the usual, excellent occasion. The final of the Junior Charity Cup will be played on Thursday, 1st May, 2007 and will be contested by Tewkesbury Rovers and Falcons. The match will take place at Kayte Lane, by kind permission of Bishop's Cleeve FC, and will kick off at 7.00 pm. The cost of admission will be £3, which will include a programme and entry to the raffle, so please support this match if at all possible. 6 Minor Charity Cup Final This year's Minor Charity Cup Final will be played at Petersfield Stadium, courtesy of Cheltenham Saracens FC, on Tuesday, 29th April. The finalists will be FC Barometrics Reserves and C & G and, once again, the entry fee will be £3, with a programme and a raffle ticket included in the price of admission. By this stage of the season, all expenses that have to be met from the Charity Cup funds have already been paid out, so every single penny collected on the gate at each of the cup finals goes straight to worthy causes. Please lend your support if you can. 7 Supplementary Information Forms All clubs should now have received their supplementary information forms for Season 2008-2009. It should please be noted that all clubs should return these forms to the League's General Secretary by June 1st at the latest to avoid the imposition of a fine. 8 Management Committee Vacancy Following the resignation of the League's President, Mr John Crowther, from the position of Vice Chairman, it is likely that there will be a vacancy for a new Management Committee member to join the Committee as from the forthcoming Annual General Meeting. Would anyone who might be interested in taking up this position, please contact the League Secretary in the first instance. 9 General Secretary's Email Details Please note that, all emails to the League's General Secretary should be sent to both his work email address, which is "noram@csc.com" and his home email address, which is "Nickoramcafl@aol.com"
