Cheltenham League Notice Board
It is the purpose of this Newsletter to communicate items of interest to Clubs and, in particular, their Secretaries, that were not necessarily discussed at the monthly Management Committee meetings. If anyone has anything that they would like to include on this newsletter, which will be circulated to all clubs and which will also be posted on the Leagues Web site, they are advised to contact the League's General Secretary by the Monday that immediately precedes the monthly Management Committee meeting, at the latest. A word document version of the newsletter can be launched by clicking here 1. Affiliation Numbers All clubs are, once again, reminded that they must forward details of their GFA Affiliation Number to the League's General Secretary by August 31st at the latest. This affiliation number can be found on the receipt that the GFA will have issued to each club in acknowledgment of their completed "A" forms and, this season, this number is prefixed "EAN". The communication of this number to the General Secretary acts as confirmation that the club has, indeed, affiliated to the GFA. Failure to forward these details may result in matches being postponed as only affiliated clubs are allowed to participate in competitions under the jurisdiction of the Cheltenham League. Any clubs who have not received a receipt from the GFA are urged to ring the County Association as soon as possible to obtain their EAN number for this season, before passing on the details to the General Secretary. 2 Club Accounts Clubs are also reminded that they must send a copy of their accounts to the League Secretary in advance of their first fixture of the season. 3 Handbooks The advanced copied of the 2007-2008 handbook have now been posted to each Club's Secretary and the remaining allocation of Handbooks will be distributed at the Clubs Meeting, which will be held at the Victory Club on September 26th. However, if your club requires their full allocation in advance of this date, please contact the League Secretary to arrange a mutually convenient time for the extra handbooks to be collected. If you have not received your advanced copy, please contact the League Secretary immediately 4 Result Cards The League was unable to distribute Result Cards for the new season at the Annual General Meeting as these cards carry the Name & Address of the Registration Secretary and, following the resignation of Terry Onions, this was not known until the meeting itself. Now that Phil Tustain has assumed the duties of Registration Secretary, these cards can now be distributed and 6 cards per team, enough to last until the end of September, were sent out to Club Secretaries, along with the advanced copy of the handbook, at the beginning of August. The rest of each club's allocation of cards will be available for collection at the club's meeting at the end of September. Also, please note that if your club usually submits its result cards to the registration secretary via email, these emails should now be sent to philiptustain@aol.com 5 Registration Clubs are reminded that they should check with Phil Tustain before contemplating
signing anyone who's name appeared on the CDP2 form. Numerous of the names
have now been removed from the CDP2 list and up to date information is
only available from Phil. Also, please note that Belmore Jags, Naunton
Park and Tewkesbury YMCA, each of whom left the League at the end of last
season, still owe money to the League. As a consequence, if forms are
submitted in the names of any former players of these clubs, the players
concerned will not be eligible to play for their new club until such time
as they have paid their share of the debt involved. 6 Clubs Meeting 26th September 2007 The next Clubs meeting will be held at the Victory Club on Wednesday,
26th September 2007, starting at 7.15 pm. Attendance at this meeting is
not obligatory but clubs are advised to send a representative if at all
possible, for a number of reasons. In the first instance, the meeting
provides a forum at which issues can be discussed and possible resolutions
to any problems can be identified. Secondly, it acts as an information
exchange, at which both reports are made by the League's Officers and,
also, help and guidance is offered with regard to matters concerning League
affairs. Thirdly, the remainder of each club's allocation of Result Cards
and Handbooks will be available for collection on the night. 7 Club Details Prestbury Rovers first choice colours will now be Green & Red Shirts,
Green & Red Shorts and Green Socks. Their change colours are now to
be all Blue 8 New Referee A new referee has joined the League's ranks. He is Ian Parsons, his address is Orchard End, Fieldgate Road, Bishops Cleeve, Cheltenham, Gloucs, Gl52 8JJ and his telephone numbers are 01242 675374 (H) and 07708490382 (M) 9 Assistant Secretary Away John Hunt, the League Registration Secretary, will be on holiday from August 30th to 12th September. In the meantime, please refer all issues relating to fixtures to the General Secretary. NB: Thanks,
