Whaddon United booked themselves a place in the Junior Charity Cup Final and Finlay Rovers Reserves claimed a place in the Minor Charity Cup Final following a second night of Semi Final action at The Newlands yesterday evening. Whaddon United, the Division Three league leaders, ran out 5-3 winners against gallant Charlton Kings, from Division Four, to set up a meeting with Broadway United in the Junior Charity Cup Final, which will be played at Kayte Lane on Friday, 20th April. On an adjacent pitch, Finlay Rovers Reserves took a slender one goal lead into the last five minutes against Northleach Town Reserves but found themselves pegged back by a last gasp penalty that meant the game was forced into extra time. A goal in each period of the extra 30 minutes for Finlay Rovers earned them a date in the final with Sherborne Harriers, however, which will be played at Cheltenham Saracens' ground on Tuesday, 24th April, 2007. The complete schedule for this season's Charity Cup finals is as follows Friday, 20th April, 2007 - Junior Charity Cup Final Broadway United v Whaddon United at Bishops Cleeve FC, Kayte Lane - Kick Off 7.00 pm Tuesday, 24th April, 2007 - Minor Charity Cup Final Finlay Rovers Reserves v Sherborne Harriers at Cheltenham Saracens FC, Petersfield Stadium - Kick Off 7.00 pm Thursday, 26th April, 2007 - Senior Charity Cup Final Endsleigh v Hatherley Rangers at Cheltenham Town FC, Whaddon Road - Kick Off 6.30 pm |
