Cheltenham League Notice Board

  • 09/11/2006 - Minutes Silence for Armistice Day

For the first time in many years Armistice Day, November 11th, falls on a Saturday this season and the forthcoming weekend's fixtures will be played on the 88th anniversary of the end of the first World War.

The League does not believe that it has any jurisdiction to impose the requirement to hold a minutes silence before each and every Cheltenham League match that is played on Saturday but it would ask all clubs to give the matter some thought and to engage in 60 seconds of reflection before the kick off should both teams and the referee be in agreement.
