  • 03/05/2006 - Junior Charity Cup Final

The top two teams from Division Three in the Cheltenham League go head to head tomorrow night (Thursday) as they do battle in the last of the League's Cup Finals for this season, the Junior Charity Cup.

High Tech Rangers have swept all before them this season and secured the third Division Championship more than a fortnight ago. In the end, they finished 7 points clear at the top of the table and, when an impressive run in the County Minor Cup and an appearance in the Junior Charity Cup Final are also taken into account, it all adds up to a very impressive season for the team that is based at the old Whitbread Sports Ground in Brockworth.

Woodmancote were the team that finished seven points behind their opponents tomorrow night, in 2nd place in Division Three, but they will hark back to last season's GFA County Minor Cup Final, in which they emerged triumphant against High Tech Rangers in the final, which was played at Slimbridge. Both of Thursday night's finalists were promoted from Division Four at the end of 2004-05 and will now be looking forward to the new challenges presented by life in Division Two.

An excellent game between these two old rivals is in prospect at Bishop's Cleeve FC's Kayte Lane ground, where the kick off will be 7.00 pm.
