  • 29/03/2006 - Senior Charity Cup

Following the completion of both Semi Finals at the tail end of last week, it has been confirmed that this season's Senior Charity Cup Finalists will be Smiths Athletic Reserves and Winchcombe Town.

Smiths Athletic Reserves were the first to book their place in the final, which will be held at Whaddon Road on a date that has yet to be arranged during the course of April. Hailing from Division Two, they overcame Division One opposition in Kings AFC, 2-1 after extra time.

The next night, the second semi final, this time played at Kayte Lane, again went to extra time but this time it needed penalties to separate Winchcombe Town and Belmore Jags. After a 2-2 draw in the alloted 120 minutes of playing time, Winchcombe made sure of a second successive trip to the home of the Robins with a 5-4 victory on penalties.

Thanks to everyone who attended the games and who therefore helped to raise approximately £300 for the League's charities.
