Cheltenham League Notice Board
Minutes of the Extraordinary General Meeting held at the
Victory Club on Wednesday 28th September 2005 at 7-15pm In the absence of the League Chairman, Mr John Crowther, Vice Chairman, took the chair The Chairman opened the meeting by explaining that, due to a printer's error, a clause of League Rule 10(b) had been omitted from the current edition of the League Handbook. It was believed to be necessary for this rule to be re-established and he invited the General Secretary, Mr Nick Oram, to put the motion to the Meeting. The General Secretary explained to the meeting that it was felt that, as the rule in question did not specifically appear in the current handbook, it was not enforceable, even though the decision to exclude it from the League's set of rules had not been taken by any General Meeting. The General Secretary read the missing clause of rule 10(b) to the meeting. "Any Club with more than one team in the Competition shall always fulfil its fixtures, within the Competition, in the following order of precedence: first team, reserve team, third team, and fourth team. Clubs in breach of this requirement shall be fined a sum not exceeding £25 or otherwise dealt with by the Management Committee" As there were no questions from the floor with regard to this matter, the Chairman asked for a proposer and seconder. It was proposed by Star FC and seconded by Smiths Athletic FC that the missing clause be explicitly re-adopted as part of rule 10(b). This was agreed unanimously. The Chairman asked for a roll-call of clubs in attendance at the meeting. It was reported that 4 clubs, namely Finlay Rovers, Gaffers, High-Tech Rangers and Northleach Town were not in attendance. There being no further business, the meeting closed at 7.18 pm |
