Cheltenham League Notice Board

  • 25/02/2005 - February Newsletter

It is the purpose of this Newsletter to communicate items of interest to Clubs and, in particular, their Secretaries, that were not necessarily discussed at the monthly Management Committee meetings. If anyone has anything that they would like to include on this newsletter, which will be circulated to all clubs and which will also be posted on the Leagues Web site, they are advised to contact the League's General Secretary by the Monday that immediately precedes the monthly Management Committee meeting, at the latest

1) Stanton Withdraw from the League

It is with regret that the League has accepted the resignation and immediate withdrawal of Stanton Football Club from Division 5. Stanton had been members of the League for three years, a period of time that was characterised by a seemingly permanent struggle to field a full side on Saturday afternoons. In the end, the problems of player availability finally defeated them and, following two consecutive cancelled fixtures, the club held an emergency meeting at the beginning of February at which the decision was taken to withdraw.

2. Entry Forms

All clubs should, by now, have received their application forms for the 2005-2006 season, along with the declaration form that the Chairman and Secretary of each club are asked to sign every year. These were included in the envelopes that were handed out to club delegates at the last Clubs meeting, on January 26th, 2005. The envelopes that were not collected at the clubs meeting were posted to member clubs at the end of last month.
If your club is not in receipt of these two forms, please contact the League Secretary, Nick Oram, and ask that copies be sent to you. These forms, fully completed, must be returned to the League Secretary by March 31st at the latest otherwise your club will be in breach of League Rule 14a. The fine associated with this is £25 so please ensure that you return your form on time!

3 Contacting the League

Please note that Mr Les Fisher is the League Treasurer and the League's Results Secretary. He should ONLY be contacted either on matters relating to finance - such as queries on invoices issued or to make the league aware of difficulties that are being experienced in the payment of such invoices - or, on match days, in relation to matters appertaining to that days fixtures, such as details of postponements or the result of the match.

He is not the first point of contact for administrative matters relating to the business of the League. For these matters, please contact Nick Oram, the League's General Secretary, in the first instance. If Nick is unable to help, he will refer you to the most appropriate officer dependent on the nature of your inquiry.

Mr Fisher has been contacted on several occasions over the course of the last month with regard to matters that should all have been referred to the General Secretary. Nick can be reached on the telephone on 07881 525357 or via email at Nickesfc@aol.com.
Thanks in anticipation of your co-operation in this matter
